Romania Launches New Calls for Funding in Aquaculture and Fisheries – Over €53 Million Available
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced two new calls for funding applications under the Aquaculture and Fisheries Programme 2021–2027, managed by the General Directorate for Fisheries – Managing Authority for the Operational Programme for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs (DGP AMPOPAM). The total value of available funds under these calls amounts to approximately €53 million.
1. Investments in Aquaculture
This funding call aims to support the establishment, expansion, and modernization of aquaculture farms, promoting growth and diversification of production—particularly with native fish species—and encouraging the transition to environmentally sustainable practices.
Eligible projects must demonstrate efficient use of resources, social impact, or a focus on organic production.
2. Processing of Fishery and Aquaculture Products
This call supports investments in the processing and transformation of fishery and aquaculture products, aiming to increase their added value.

Romania has been allocated a total budget of €232,072,724 for the 2021–2027 programming period under this EU-backed initiative, with €162,450,905 coming from the European Union contribution.
