At the headquarters of the County Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Directorate (DSVSA) in Constanța, the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) launched the "Summer Season 2023 Command Center."

The Command Center will deploy control teams consisting of 40 inspectors, organized in five successive two-week shifts, to maintain the goal of "zero foodborne infections."
The checks will be conducted by veterinary doctors delegated from 10 other County Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Directorates (DSVSA), who, between June 26th and September 3rd, will work alongside colleagues from the Official Food Safety Control Service, Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Circumscriptions within DSVSA Constanța.
The control activities will be carried out in six tourist and recreational areas along the Black Sea coast, starting from the locality of Vadu to Vama Veche, namely Năvodari, Mamaia Nord, Mamaia Centru, Mamaia Sud, Costinești, including Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirgiol, and Mangalia.
The control teams will be supported by the mobile laboratory and the Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Laboratory of DSVSA Constanța. The aim is to analyze the samples taken from raw materials, finished products, and sanitation tests as quickly as possible.
The recreational areas in Constanța County experience a unique dynamic during the summer season, characterized by the establishment of a large number of temporary food establishments and retail units.
Throughout the Summer Season 2023 Command Center activities, the veterinary sanitary inspectors and food safety inspectors will collaborate and work together with representatives of institutions responsible for inspection and control.
The purpose of the Summer Season 2023 Command Center activities is to ensure, through official inspectors and significant logistical resources, the prevention of foodborne infections and to provide a climate of food safety for tourists on the Black Sea coast during their vacation.
Inspectors and the mobile laboratory will carry out their activities according to a predetermined schedule but will also respond to and verify complaints received from citizens.
