ANSVSA: Activity of the 2023 Summer Season Command

During the Summer Season Command 2023, veterinary health inspectors and food safety inspectors conducted control activities in units involved in the production, processing, storage, marketing, and sale of food products.

A total of 260 units located in the 6 tourist areas were inspected: Năvodari, North Mamaia, Central Mamaia, South Mamaia, Costineşti, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirgiol, Mangalia, and Constanța.

As a result of the inspections, deficiencies were found in the following areas:

  1. Direct selling of food products to end consumers in spaces not approved by veterinary health authorities.
  2. Non-compliance with veterinary health norms regarding the maintenance of processing, storage, and marketing spaces for food products.
  3. Improper storage of food products.
  4. Sale of products beyond their expiration date.

For the violations of veterinary health and food safety legislation, 62 units were fined a total of 617,200 lei. Additionally, an Activity Suspension Ordinance was issued for a restaurant in Costinești, and a brasserie in South Mamaia had its activity prohibited.

Furthermore, 236 kg of food products (beef, chicken, fish and fish products, ice cream) were confiscated and directed to disposal units.
