The Alucro Association, an organization implementing the European program Every Can Counts in Romania, has announced the winners of the 10th edition of the Can Art & Design Festival, a unique competition dedicated to promoting creative recycling of aluminum packaging in Romania.

In this edition, artists and creative enthusiasts transformed used beverage cans into unique artistic creations, paintings, or sculptures using various aluminum processing techniques. Over 25 works were submitted, and 9 of them received awards and will be included in a series of exhibitions accessible to the public in Romania.

For originality, creativity, and technical execution, the works in the Sculptures or Installations category were awarded to artists Cosmin Alin Vâlceanu, Sabina Stan, Adelina Gavrilă, and Nadina Lungu.

In the section dedicated to large-sized paintings (minimum 80 x 90 cm), the works created by Maria Petrariu, Ana Roua Vasilescu, and Daniel Loagăr received awards. For the section of small-sized paintings (50 x 70), the highest-scoring works belonged to artists Andrei Constantin Pascariu, Angelin Stanciu, and Roxana Minuță.

Through the Can Art & Design Festival initiative held annually, the Alucro Association aims to raise awareness of the importance of recycling cans through an innovative and engaging platform that combines environmental awareness with artistic expression.

Throughout the ten editions held to date, the competition has become a benchmark for art enthusiasts who choose to express their ideas using aluminum cans as a central element in the creative process.

The Alucro Association and its partners for this edition, Reciclad'OR and ALRO S.A, acknowledge the merits of all participants in this edition of the Can Art & Design Festival who have chosen to contribute to a common effort to promote resource conservation and reuse, as aluminum is a material that can be endlessly recycled without losing its properties.

"The awarded works, as well as the others in the project, are clear evidence of the potential for creative recycling of waste. It takes a joint effort, genuine desire, and involvement to conserve resources and reuse them. And the Can Art & Design Festival project, dedicated to creatively recycling aluminum cans, represents an important step in this direction, a source of inspiration and a model that can be replicated for other types of packaging waste.

Reciclad'OR is a leading sustainability company in Romania, which supports and initiates projects with the aim of informing and raising awareness about environmental issues, the importance of recycling, and climate change. In almost six years of activity, Reciclad'OR has developed and participated in over 150 CSR campaigns with a national impact," says Adriana Calcan, PR & CSR at Reciclad'OR.
