Schothorst Feed Research Chooses Ruminix Software for Its E-Dairy Model

Animal nutrition software provider A-Systems has announced that Schothorst Feed Research has selected the Ruminix software to implement its proprietary electronic dairy rationalization model.

This collaboration aims to make Schothorst Feed Research's advanced expertise in dairy nutrition more accessible to feed producers worldwide, enabling data-driven decisions for optimal dairy production.

The proprietary rationalization model of Schothorst Feed Research predicts milk production based on specific feed inputs, allowing producers to optimize both feeding efficiency and production.

Adisseo’s MetaSmart Production Facility Expected in the Second Half of 2025

From January 28-30, Adisseo welcomed 26 key clients from across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to an event in Burgos to showcase the company’s new plant dedicated to producing HMBi, the active ingredient in MetaSmart, a methionine source for ruminants.

Recent studies have shown that balancing amino acid rations using MetaSmart as the methionine supplement of choice increases milk production by over 1 kg per day, milk protein by 0.14 percentage points, and milk fat by 0.2 percentage points.

Animine & Feedworks USA Partner to Expand Precision Mineral Business

Independent precision minerals provider Animine has announced its collaboration with Feedworks USA in the U.S. market.

Founded in 2005, Feedworks USA distributes specialty feed ingredients designed to improve the health and performance of monogastric and ruminant animals.

Animine’s portfolio includes products tailored to enhance the health and nutrition of pigs, poultry, and dairy cows.

£1 Million Fund to Reward Farmers for Reducing Emissions

An innovative program that allows supply chains to reward farmers for reducing greenhouse gas emissions is now open to farmers.

Developed by Soil Association Exchange, the new exchange market will function as an insertion fund without carbon credit sales. Instead, it will pool funds from multiple companies with shared supply chains to pay farmers for emission reductions.

Farmers participating in the program can earn £60 per tonne of CO2e reduced annually, with half of the payments provided upfront to finance their transition.

Dairy Brands Gather at IFE 2025

IFE, part of Food, Drink & Hospitality Week, will return to ExCeL London from March 17-19, focusing on innovation and quality, including a dedicated pavilion for cheeses and dairy products.

During a series of presentations at Dairy-Tech 2025, DeLaval introduced its new digital performance portal, DeLaval Plus, featuring applications such as behavior analysis and AI-driven insights for dairy farms using DeLaval's VMS milking robots.

The system uses data sensors to record individual cow behavior, analyze data using AI, and help dairy producers identify sick cows and those in heat.

Santiago de Chile to Host IDF World Dairy Summit

Santiago will make history as the first South American city to host the International Dairy Federation’s World Dairy Summit from October 20-23, 2025.

The three pillars of the event include sustainable food systems, new technologies and AI in dairy production, and dairy products as a pillar of development.

Promoted by the International Dairy Federation and organized by Chile’s Consorcio Lechero, the event is supported by the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture and the Federation of Milk Producers (FEDELECHE).

Alltech Wisconsin Announces Dairy Farm Employee of the Year

Alltech Wisconsin awarded the 2024 Dairy Farm Employee of the Year prize to Hector Lobato from Schilling Farms in Darlington, Wisconsin, for his hard work and dedication over the past 18 years.

Nominations for the award are made by farm managers, dairy owners, farm consultants, or nutritionists based on qualities such as work ethic, perseverance, honesty, and integrity.

Other finalists honored at the Alltech Dairy Summit included Monte Guenther from Hil-Ray Farms in Minnesota City, Minnesota, and Fernando Maceda from Wayside Dairy in Greenleaf, Wisconsin.

World Dairy Expo Accepting Nominations for 2025 Recognition Awards

Nominations for the 2025 World Dairy Expo Recognition Awards are open until February 15 via the nomination form.

The expo honors industry leaders in three categories: Dairy Producer of the Year, Industry Person of the Year, and International Person of the Year.

Organizations, academics, producers, and other dairy industry stakeholders are encouraged to nominate individuals for their outstanding work and dedication to the dairy sector.

Holstein UK Announces 2024 President’s Medal Winner

Holstein UK awarded the President’s Medal to Jamie Pottow at the Semex International Dairy Conference in Glasgow on January 13.

Jamie, a member of the South & Wiltshire Holstein Young Breeders Club (HYB), was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the breed, his club, and the wider HYB community.

His award includes an engraved medal and a trip to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto in November.

Alltech Welcomes Leticia Souza to U.S. Dairy Support Team

Alltech has announced that Leticia Souza has joined its U.S. team as an on-farm dairy support specialist.

As part of the Alltech Dairy On-Farm Support team, Souza will spend time in the field, focusing on bilingual training, coaching, and retention strategies for dairy employees, serving dairy producers, nutritionists, and veterinarians across the northeastern and southeastern U.S.

In 2023, Souza earned a master’s degree in veterinary medicine and later worked as a research technologist, conducting both lab and field research.
