Daniel Constantin has been officially appointed President of the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE), with the rank of State Secretary. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and published in the Official Gazette on 30 January 2026, the date on which the appointment entered into force.
The normative act also provides for the termination of a previous decision under which the agency’s leadership had been ensured on an interim basis. ARICE operates under the authority of the Government of Romania and is responsible for promoting foreign investment and foreign trade.
Daniel Constantin’s appointment followed a political decision adopted by the National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) during its meeting on 19 January 2026. At the same meeting, the liberal leadership approved several proposals for filling senior public positions.
Daniel Constantin has a well-known political background, having served as a Member of Parliament and as Minister of Agriculture, as well as Minister of the Environment. Throughout his political career, he has led or founded several political parties, and he has been a member of the PNL since 2020.
Through this appointment, the Government completes the leadership of one of the key institutions involved in Romania’s relationship with foreign investors and in the development of international trade.
