Romanian Ministry of Agriculture and AFIR Launch Public Consultation on Farm Digitalization Guide

On August 28, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and AFIR announced the launch for public consultation of the Applicant’s Guide for intervention DR-27 – Farm Digitalization, under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027. The official call is scheduled to open in the second half of October.

The scheme will provide non-reimbursable funding of up to €100,000 for small and medium-sized farms implementing digital technologies: sensors, farm management software, drones, production monitoring equipment, and traceability platforms.

According to AFIR, both crop and livestock farms are eligible, provided that beneficiaries hold an active farm registration code and present a digitalization plan validated by an agricultural specialist or certified consultant.

Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture estimate that more than 3,000 farms could benefit from this support over the next two years. Farmers are encouraged to create an AFIR account and prepare their documentation in advance, as interest in this measure is high, especially among young farmers and newly established cooperatives.
