There are professional paths that cannot be read solely through the positions held. They are trajectories built through decision, through assumed change, and through the ability to transfer competencies from one system to another. Florian Ciolacu is one such case.

His training began in the field of exact sciences. His studies in physics provided him with rigor, analytical thinking, and an understanding of complex systems—competencies that would later be reflected in all stages of his professional career. From adolescence, exposure to the international environment sparked his appetite for exploration and for building a career beyond fixed borders.

Diplomacy was the first major stage of his professional maturation. Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Florian Ciolacu worked in the area of multilateral diplomacy, serving as Romania’s representative to the UN structures in Geneva. He handled sensitive dossiers related to telecommunications, digitalization, intellectual property, and research, in a context where decisions are not publicly visible but produce long-term effects. This period strengthened his decision-making discipline and his ability to work under pressure in an extremely competitive international environment.

The transition to the private sector came in 2006 as a strategic choice. At SIVECO Romania, he contributed to building and coordinating the company’s international development direction, at a time when few Romanian firms were undertaking complex public projects abroad. For more than a decade, this activity involved expansion into emerging markets, institutional partnerships, and the delivery of projects with national impact. A landmark of this stage was the education digitalization project in Morocco, valued at approximately €13 million, which demonstrated the ability of Romanian expertise to operate at an international level.

Since 2018, Florian Ciolacu has held the position of Executive Director of the Romanian Farmers’ Club. This stage does not represent a change in direction, but rather a natural continuity: from global systems to a national community, from policies and projects to real people. At the center of his activity lies the consolidation of the representation of high-performing farmers, the modernization of the agricultural sector, and, above all, investment in human capital.

The training program for young leaders in agriculture has become one of the Club’s strategic directions, based on the conviction that long-term performance cannot exist without leadership, education, and the ability to build partnerships. It is a vision that relies on critical mass, continuity, and professionalization.

Viewed as a whole, Florian Ciolacu’s career path is defined by a coherent thread: responsibility, construction, and a constant focus on people. Beyond different fields, the same underlying idea remains: sustainable development begins with those who are prepared to lead.
