Compared to April 2022, the volume of turnover in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) in April 2023 decreased in both raw series by 1.6% and in seasonally adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality by 1.5%.

During the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, the volume of turnover in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased compared to the period January 1st to April 30th, 2022, both in raw series by 3.4% and in seasonally adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality by 3.1%.

April 2023 compared to March 2023

The volume of turnover in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in raw series, in April 2023 compared to the previous month, decreased overall by 5.2% due to decreases in retail trade of motor fuels in specialized stores (-6.8%), sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (-6.1%), and sales of non-food products (-3.8%).

The volume of turnover in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in seasonally adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality, decreased overall in April 2023 compared to the previous month by 3.7% due to decreases in retail trade of motor fuels in specialized stores (-6.4%), sales of non-food products (-2.8%), and sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (-2.4%).

April 2023 compared to April 2022

The volume of turnover in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in raw series, in April 2023 compared to April 2022, recorded an overall decrease of 1.6% due to decreases in retail trade of motor fuels in specialized stores (-7.6%) and sales of non-food products (-1.3%). Sales of food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 1.5%.

The volume of turnover in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in seasonally adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality, in April 2023 compared to April 2022, recorded an overall decrease of 1.5% due to decreases in retail trade of motor fuels in specialized stores (-5.1%) and sales of non-food products (-0.3%). Sales of food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 1.1%.
