In December 2023, the turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased by 3.9% compared to November 2023, as a gross series, while as an adjusted series for the number of working days and seasonality, it decreased by 0.2%.

Compared to December 2022, the turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) in December 2023 increased both as a gross series by 0.1% and as an adjusted series for the number of working days and seasonality by 1.5%.

In 2023, the turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased by 1.9% compared to 2022 as a gross series.

December 2023 compared to November 2023:

The turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, in December 2023 compared to the previous month, increased overall by 3.9%, due to the increase in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco by 18.6%.

Decreases were recorded in the retail trade of motor vehicle fuels in specialized stores (-3.7%) and sales of non-food products (-3.2%).

The turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), adjusted series for the number of working days and seasonality, decreased overall in December 2023 compared to the previous month by 0.2%, as a result of the decrease in sales of non-food products by 1.3%.

Increases were recorded in the retail trade of motor vehicle fuels in specialized stores (+2.5%) and sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (+0.3%).

December 2023 compared to December 2022:

The turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, in December 2023 compared to December 2022, recorded an overall increase of 0.1%, due to increases in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (+4.7%) and non-food product sales (+1.6%).

The retail trade of motor vehicle fuels in specialized stores decreased by 11.3%.

The turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), adjusted series for the number of working days and seasonality, in December 2023 compared to December 2022, recorded an overall increase of 1.5%, due to increases in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (+5.1%) and non-food product sales (+3.9%).

The retail trade of motor vehicle fuels in specialized stores decreased by 10.6%.

Year 2023 compared to year 2022:

The turnover volume of retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, in 2023 compared to 2022, recorded an overall increase of 1.9%, due to increases in sales of non-food products (+3.8%) and sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (+3.6%).
