In December 2023, the turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) decreased nominally by 2.6% compared to November 2023, as a gross series, and increased by 6.2% as an adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality.

Compared to December 2022, the turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) in December 2023 increased nominally, both as a gross series by 4.4% and as an adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality by 5.9%.

In 2023, the turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased nominally by 1.1% compared to 2022 as a gross series.

December 2023 compared to November 2023

The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a gross series, in December 2023 compared to the previous month, decreased nominally overall by 2.6% due to the decline in turnover in specialized wholesale trade of other products (-13.8%), non-specialized wholesale trade (-10.3%), and wholesale trade of consumer goods other than food (-6.7%).

Increases were recorded in wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (+12.6%), wholesale trade of computer and telecommunications equipment (+11.7%), wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (+3.5%), wholesale trade of food products, beverages, and tobacco (+1.6%), and wholesale intermediation activities (+0.7%).

The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as an adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality, in December 2023 compared to the previous month, increased nominally overall by 6.2%.

December 2023 compared to December 2022

The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a gross series, in December 2023 compared to December 2022, increased nominally overall by 4.4% due to the increase in turnover in wholesale trade of computer and telecommunications equipment (+31.9%), wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (+30.2%), non-specialized wholesale trade (+10.2%), wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (+5.9%), wholesale trade of consumer goods other than food (+4.8%), and specialized wholesale trade of other products (+1.3%).

Decreases were recorded in wholesale trade of food products, beverages, and tobacco (-9.3%) and wholesale intermediation activities (-8.9%).

The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as an adjusted series based on the number of working days and seasonality, in December 2023 compared to December 2022, increased nominally overall by 5.9%.

Year 2023 compared to Year 2022

The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a gross series, in 2023 compared to 2022, recorded a nominal increase overall by 1.1%, due to the increase in wholesale trade of computer and telecommunications equipment (+12.6%), wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (+11.7%), wholesale trade of consumer goods other than food (+9.4%), wholesale intermediation activities (+6.1%), and non-specialized wholesale trade (+4.9%).
