Compared to April 2022, exports in April 2023 increased by 4.9%, while imports decreased by 4.5%.
During the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, FOB exports totaled 31,046.5 million euros, and CIF imports amounted to 39,904.2 million euros.
In the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, exports increased by 7.4%, while imports increased by 2.4% compared to the period January 1st to April 30th, 2022.
The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) during the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, was 8,857.7 million euros, which is 1,179.4 million euros (-11.8%) lower than the deficit recorded in the period January 1st to April 30th, 2022.
In the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, significant shares in the structure of exports and imports are held by product groups: machinery and transport equipment (44.5% for exports and 35.7% for imports) and other manufactured products (29.8% for exports and 28.6% for imports).
The value of intra-EU27 trade in goods during the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, was 22,652.0 million euros for exports and 29,368.9 million euros for imports, representing 73.0% of total exports and 73.6% of total imports.
The value of extra-EU27 trade in goods during the period January 1st to April 30th, 2023, was 8,394.5 million euros for exports and 10,535.3 million euros for imports, representing 27.0% of total exports and 26.4% of total imports.
The deficit in international trade in food products during the analyzed period amounted to 3.7 billion euros.
