From January 1 to March 31, 2024, exports decreased by 3.7%, and imports decreased by 3.2% compared to the period from January 1 to March 31, 2023.
The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) from January 1 to March 31, 2024, was 6699.0 million euros, 103.3 million euros (-1.5%) less than the deficit recorded from January 1 to March 31, 2023.
From January 1 to March 31, 2024, significant shares in the structure of exports and imports were held by the product groups:
machinery and transport equipment (47.7% of exports and 36.2% of imports) and other manufactured goods (29.1% of exports and 27.9% of imports).
The value of intra-EU27 goods trade from January 1 to March 31, 2024, was 16840.5 million euros in dispatches and 21937.3 million euros in arrivals, representing 73.4% of total exports and 74.0% of total imports.
The value of extra-EU27 goods trade from January 1 to March 31, 2024, was 6105.6 million euros in exports and 7707.8 million euros in imports, representing 26.6% of total exports and 26.0% of total imports.
