INS: In the first ten months of 2023, Romania imported food worth almost 9 billion. Of euro

In October 2023, FOB exports amounted to 8,408.5 million euros, while CIF imports totaled 11,208.1 million euros, resulting in a deficit of 2,799.6 million euros.

Compared to October 2022, exports in October 2023 increased by 5.6%, while imports decreased by 1.5%.

For the period January 1st to October 31st, 2023, FOB exports totaled 78,699.5 million euros, and CIF imports totaled 101,892.9 million euros.

During the January 1st to October 31st, 2023 period, exports increased by 2.4%, and imports decreased by 3.2%, compared to the same period in 2022.

The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) for the January 1st to October 31st, 2023 period was 23,193.4 million euros, which is 5,215.8 million euros (-18.4%) lower than the deficit recorded during the same period in 2022.

In the January 1st to October 31st, 2023 period, significant shares in the export and import structure are held by product groups: machinery and transport equipment (44.6% in exports and 36.4% in imports) and other manufactured products (30.1% in exports and 28.9% in imports).

Unfortunately, Romania's total imports of food and live animals reached over 8.9 billion euros at the end of the first ten months of 2023.
