The weight of animals destined for slaughter for consumption increased in 2022, compared to 2021, in poultry and sheep and goats, and decreased in pigs and cattle.
In 2022 compared to the previous year, wool and egg production increased, and milk production decreased.
In 2022 compared to 2021, the following were observed:
• the weight of animals and birds destined for slaughter for consumption increased by 8.6% in sheep and goats and by 5.7% in birds and decreased by 11.5% in pigs and by 1.2% in cattle;
• total milk production was 0.6% lower;
• wool production increased by 3.1%; • egg production increased by 1.1%.
Cow's milk production (including for calf consumption) in 2022 was 39,009 thousand hectoliters, 35 thousand hectoliters (-0.1%) below the level of the previous year.
There were increases in the development regions:
North-West (+5.4%), Center (+3.9%), South-Muntenia (+1.8%) and Bucharest-Ilfov (+0.9%) and decreases in the other development regions: South - West Oltenia (-7.4%), South-East (-6.8%), West (-4.1%) and North-East (-1.3%).
