94% of Romanian Employees Report Inflation Increase Has Affected Monthly Expenses

Eight out of ten Romanian employees say that price increases have impacted the amount they allocate for lunch at the office, according to an analysis by Pluxee/IvOX.

Measures Taken by Romanians to Cope with the Economic Situation Include

- Closer Monitoring of Expenses

- Postponing Significant Investments

- Giving Up Dining Out

At the same time, 57% of Romanians report that their employers have offered economic support in the past year.

- One in three Romanian employees chooses to have lunch at a restaurant or order food to the office, while 56% prefer a home-prepared lunch.

Romanian lunch habits during the workweek have fundamentally changed compared to previous years, as a consequence of the economic situation affecting their purchasing power, according to the "Lunch at the Office" study conducted by iVox.ro and Pluxee Romania. Nearly 95% of Romanian employees reported that their monthly habits have changed due to rising inflation.

Top Measures Taken by Romanians to Cope with Rising Inflation Include:

- Better Tracking of Monthly Expenses: Decision made by 40% of respondents

- Postponing Significant Expenditures: Such as vacations or other investments, taken by approximately 2 out of 5 Romanians

- Giving Up Dining Out: Solution adopted by 14% of Romanians

- 85% of Romanians believe that inflation has also impacted the cost of lunch at the office.

In addition to personal changes, Romanian employees are seeking support from the companies they work for to cope with economic increases.

Measures Expected by Romanian Employees from Employers Include:

- Increase in Salary Benefits: Expected by 22% of respondents

- Increase in the Value of Meal Vouchers: Expected by 26% of Romanians
