The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has posted on decisional transparency a draft Government decision approving the allocated amount for the state aid scheme in the livestock sector for the year 2024.

Through this draft legislative act, the total value of the state aid scheme for the year 2024 is established, in the amount of up to 228,000,000 lei, commitment credits, of which:

  • 70,680,000 lei for bovine, buffalo, porcine, and equine species and 157,320,000 lei for ovine and caprine species, respectively 161,864,000 lei budgetary credits, of which 50,178,000 lei for bovine, buffalo, porcine, and equine species, and
  • 111,686,000 lei for ovine and caprine species. The funds are provided from the state budget, within the limits of the budgetary provisions approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the year 2024.

The total value of the state aid scheme for the year 2024 falls within the maximum ceiling of the state aid scheme for the period 2023-2027, in the amount of 561,571,180 lei.

The aid is provided in the form of subsidized services to micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, individual and family enterprises, authorized natural persons, natural persons holding a producer certificate, as applicable, as well as legal entities engaged in agricultural production.

This draft ordinance aims to promote animal husbandry by encouraging the exploitation of purebred breeding animals and hybrid breeding pigs.

Thus, supporting this activity constitutes a lever for increasing the viability of farms by stabilizing farmers' incomes and eliminating discrepancies and disparities between farm categories, agricultural sectors, and territories, as well as ensuring the maintenance of agricultural production concurrently with improving economic performance and increasing incomes for small/medium/family farms.
