The professionals inform that starting from this week, local producers from Olt county are present with their tastiest products at the Local Goodies Shelf inaugurated at Profi stores in Slatina, Corabia, Scornicești, and Piatra Olt, where they quickly reach customers at low prices!

Local producers are encouraged to continue the tradition of making goodies according to traditional recipes and are assisted in reaching consumers more easily thanks to the most extensive program initiated for their support by Profi, the Romanian retail network.

Through this program, in some of its Profi stores, the company offers the authentic and healthy taste of fresh products such as meat, dairy, fish, pasta, pure honey, cold-pressed oils, craft beer, and selected wines. Initially, nearly 20 producers supply the Local Goodies Shelf in selected Profi stores in Olt county.

"The Local Goodies Shelf is our heartfelt program through which we show respect for clean and traditional recipes and care for the community. We ensure that what is good and healthy finds its place in modern retail.

This is also a way in which Profi helps small local producers who cook as if for their own families to reach as many families in Romania as possible. It's not just assistance for small local producers, but also for consumers who can find quality products with verified origins.

All the producers we identify, whose goodies are worth discovering and enjoying by as many people as possible, are also found on the Via Profi platform and, starting today, in Profi stores in Olt county," said Călin Costinaș, Deputy General Manager of Profi.

Every day, the Local Goodies Shelf welcomes its customers from Olt with low prices at the following stores: Profi Super on Toamnei Street 6 and Ecaterina Teodoroiu Street 2 in Slatina, Profi Super on Ion Heliade Rădulescu Street 4 in Corabia, Profi Super on Libertății Street 6 in Scornicești, and Profi Loco on Stadionului Street 2 in Piatra-Olt.

The products are put up for sale in limited quantities and only in selected stores to allow producers to maintain their traditional preparation methods and quality without insisting on quantity. The emphasis is on freshness and the specific artisanal production of each locality or area where they are displayed at the Local Goodies Shelf.

"We encourage local producers to do what they do best and to put their hearts into Romania, just as we understand how to put our hearts into the community through concrete actions. Participants in this program receive assistance in completing the necessary documentation and obtaining permits for the compliant sale of their products, while Profi facilitates their distribution through its own fleet and provides support in their promotion," explains Gaetan Pacton, General Director of Profi.

The program supporting local producers initiated by Profi through the Local Goodies Shelf was first presented in September 2022 at the Festival it organized in Apoș. Since then, it has expanded to include more and more counties and will continue to expand throughout this year. Thus, in 2023, it included 120 local artisanal suppliers with over 800 traditional items present in 25 Profi stores in 21 localities.

Beyond their presence at the Local Goodies Shelf, small local producers share their stories and present their offerings on the most extensive national promotion platform for them, Via Profi, through which anyone can embark on a journey full of the flavor of Romania's tastes.
