The European Angus Forum 2026 is being held for the first time in Romania between May 11–18, organized by the Aberdeen Angus Romania Association. The event has attracted more than 200 participants from 27 countries, turning Romania into a key reference point on the international map of Angus cattle breeders.

Romania was unanimously selected to host the forum, thus recognizing the rapid rise of the local sector. Our country currently has more than 135,603 Aberdeen Angus cattle and 1,926 breeders, ranking first in Europe.

A seven-day tour The tour started in Cluj-Napoca on May 11 and will conclude on May 18 in Bucharest, passing through Cluj, Mureș, Sibiu, Brașov and Dâmbovița counties. Participants are visiting breeding farms, feedlots, slaughterhouses and processing facilities — a route designed to showcase the entire premium beef value chain in Romania.

The central moment of the forum is the Romanian Genetics Showcase, hosted at the Bull Testing Center in Cibu (Mureș County): a judging show for cows and heifers led by international judges from Scotland, South Africa and Italy, followed by an auction featuring top Romanian cattle genetics. The international conference will take place on May 17 in Bucharest.

Why it matters The forum focuses on genetics, sustainability and market opportunities, aiming to open new export channels for Romanian Angus beef amid growing global demand for premium and traceable products. For the first time, Romania is not coming with arguments — it is coming with proof.
