The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announces the extension until February 15, 2024, at 23:59, of the submission period for funding applications through the Aid Scheme for supporting investments in new electricity production capacities from renewable sources for self-consumption by enterprises within the agricultural sector and the food industry.

It is worth noting that the call for funding applications opened on November 20, 2023, and for this scheme, a competitive announcement applies. Therefore, the submission of project proposals is based on the competitive bidding procedure and will be submitted and evaluated according to the competitive procedure based on the score obtained after the submission session.

The allocation set by the energy scheme for the current session is 150 million euros, divided according to the installed capacities at the enterprise level.

Thus, 100 million euros are allocated for installed capacities less than 1 Megawatt (MW), including 10 million euros for wind energy and 90 million euros for solar energy.

For installed capacities larger than 1 MW, the total allocation is 50 million euros, including 10 million euros for wind energy and 40 million euros for solar energy.

The state aid is 100% non-refundable, and potential beneficiaries can submit multiple projects only if the investments target different consumption locations, within the limit of 20,000,000 euros per beneficiary.

For wind energy, the funding is a maximum of 1,400,000 euros/MW for capacities less than or equal to 1 MW and a maximum of 700,000 euros/MW for capacities larger than 1 MW.

For solar energy, the support value is up to 1,000,000 euros/MW for capacities less than or equal to 1 MW and up to 500,000 euros/MW for capacities larger than 1 MW.

Eligible beneficiaries for the Energy Scheme can be enterprises in the agricultural sector, enterprises in the food industry sector, legally established and registered with the National Trade Register Office (ONRC), as well as Organizations/federations of organizations in the field of land improvements (OUAI/FOUAI), established in accordance with the law.

To prepare the necessary documentation for accessing this funding, applicants have the Applicant's Guide and the annexes related to the State Aid Scheme for renewable energy on the official website of the Agency for Rural Investment Funding, www.afir.ro, in the Funding section, as well as on the MADR website, here: https://shorturl.at/dnvF5.

Funding for the Energy Scheme is provided from the Modernization Fund, managed by the Ministry of Energy, with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development being the administrator of the state aid scheme through the Agency for Rural Investment Funding.
