The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) informs that through its County Centers, payments have been made for state aid granted to support the activities of farmers in the swine and poultry sectors in the context of the crisis caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The beneficiaries will have the funds in their accounts within the next two days.

The total amount paid is 322,571,806.13 lei, provided from the state budget through the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), as follows:

- 141,305,024.56 lei for the swine sector to 234 beneficiaries;

- 181,266,781.57 lei for the poultry sector to 349 beneficiaries.

The state aid amounts to:

- 100 euros per LU for the production capacity of broilers, turkeys, heavy breed breeding hens and/or breeding young stock, laying hens and/or replacement young stock, as well as hatched chicks and/or hatched turkeys.

The state aid for poultry farmers was calculated by multiplying the production capacity in minimal welfare conditions, equivalent LU, based on the categories of poultry, namely, broilers, turkeys, heavy breed breeding hens and/or breeding young stock, laying hens and/or replacement young stock, as well as hatched chicks and/or hatched turkeys, with the amount of 100 euros per LU.

The total value of aid that can be granted to each beneficiary does not exceed the equivalent in lei of 280,000 euros, at the exchange rate of 4.9334 lei for 1 euro. (Photo: Dreamstime)
