Kaufland Romania inaugurated on Thursday, August 10th, a store in the northern part of the capital, in the Pipera neighborhood. This is the 21st hypermarket in Bucharest and the 169th nationwide.

Located at 6-8 Glucose Factory Road, Bucharest, the store is built on a total area of nearly 5,800 square meters, with a retail space of 3,200 square meters. With the opening of the new store, Kaufland creates 80 new job positions.

The operating hours will be from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM from Monday to Saturday, and from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays.

On August 10th, the opening day, the hypermarket's parking lot will host the Mediterranean Food Festival, where customers can taste seafood and traditional Turkish sweets.

For customers who come by car for shopping, the new hypermarket offers over 200 parking spaces, including 9 for people with disabilities and 6 for parents. Customers also have access to five spots with charging stations for electric vehicles and bicycle racks.

With a total of 19 checkout lanes, including 10 self-service express lanes, the new Kaufland ensures a fast flow of customers and reduced checkout time. Additionally, customers can use the K-Scan service to scan products as they add them to their basket and complete the payment at the checkout counter.

Kaufland Glucose Factory provides access to a variety of products, featuring an assisted showcase for fresh products with a length of 22.5 meters, a fresh fish section, a micro-greenhouse in the fruit and vegetable section, bakery, frozen products, dairy products, staple foods, sweets, groceries, beverages, and non-food products.

Customers looking for a quick meal are invited to try the offerings at the Grill station outside the store. Aligned with the company's commitment to the environment, the new Kaufland Glucose Factory hypermarket is equipped with recycling systems where customers are rewarded on the spot for each sustainable action.

Thus, in the store's parking lot, customers will find a self-service machine where they can recycle packaging in exchange for extra-discount vouchers. Three types of packaging are collected here: PET bottles (up to 3 liters), glass, and aluminum cans (up to 1 liter).

Additionally, at the entrance of the store, in a specially designed space in the form of a turtle, customers can deposit packaging from personal care or cleaning products for recycling and will be instantly rewarded with 35% discount vouchers for purchasing other new products from the monthly offer.

Kaufland is among the largest retail companies in Europe, with over 1,500 stores in 8 countries, 155,000 employees, and a network of 169 stores in Romania.
