The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) informs that the veterinary and food safety inspectors operating within the Summer Season Command 2023 have carried out control activities in units of food production, processing, processing, storage, valorization, and commercialization.

Thus, 235 units located in the 6 tourist areas of interest were verified: Năvodari, Mamaia Nord, Mamaia Centru, Mamaia Sud, Costinești, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirgiol, Mangalia, and Constanța.

Following the inspections, deficiencies were found regarding:

1. Direct marketing of food products to the final consumer in spaces not approved by sanitary veterinary authorities;
2. Non-compliance with sanitary veterinary norms regarding the maintenance of spaces for processing, storage, and valorization of food products;
3. Improper storage of food products;
4. Lack of documents attesting to the traceability of products.

For violations of the sanitary veterinary and food safety legislation, 47 units were fined with penalties totaling 551,200 lei. Additionally, 5 orders to cease activities and 1 order to suspend activities were issued.

A total of 367 kg of food products (beef, chicken, fish, fish products, eggs, ice cream) were confiscated and directed for neutralization.
