The Summer Season 2023 Command Center's Activities on the Black Sea Coast

The Veterinary Health and Food Safety inspectors, who are part of the Summer Season 2023 Command Center, carried out control activities in units involved in the production, processing, storage, utilization, and sale of food products.

In this regard, 230 units located in the 6 tourist areas of interest were inspected: Năvodari, North Mamaia, Central Mamaia, South Mamaia, Costineşti, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirgiol, Mangalia, and Constanța.

Following the inspections, deficiencies were found regarding:

  1. Direct selling of food products to end consumers in areas not approved by veterinary health authorities.
  2. Non-compliance with veterinary health standards concerning the maintenance of processing, storage, and utilization spaces for food products.
  3. Improper storage of food products.
  4. Lack of documents to certify the traceability of products.

For the violations of veterinary health and food safety regulations, 55 units were fined a total of 581,200 lei.

A total of 208 kg of food products (beef, chicken, fish, fish products, and eggs) were confiscated and directed for neutralization.
