Two European Associations Merge to Form the Food & Beverage Carton Alliance (FBCA)
According to ESMagazine, two European associations, ACE (The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment) and EXTRACT, have merged to establish the Food & Beverage Carton Alliance (FBCA).
A Unified Platform
FBCA is described as a "unified platform dedicated to promoting beverage cartons as essential, renewable, and circular packaging solutions" and will be headquartered in Brussels.
The group aims to unite beverage carton manufacturers and carton suppliers to adopt sustainable solutions and also sees an opportunity to expand beyond Europe.
Additionally, FBCA plans to leverage its knowledge and expertise to develop robust regulatory frameworks for food packaging worldwide.
"A More Resilient Future"
"Our industry is working tirelessly to design fully renewable and sustainable packaging solutions that meet the needs of both consumers and the planet," said Patrick Verhelst, Chairman of the FBCA Board.
"We are excited to expand globally and advocate for the role of beverage cartons in building a more resilient, low-carbon future."
FBCA's Board of Directors includes Verhelst, who also serves as Senior Business Development Director at Elopak; Ulrika Wedberg, Vice Chair, and Executive Vice President for Sustainability and Public Affairs at Billerud; Karina Boers, Head of Sustainability at SIG; Tamara Bullock, Director of Corporate Affairs, Europe & Americas at Tetra Pak; and Erik Hallberg, Vice President for Coating, Converting & Digital Technologies at Stora Enso.
"Evidence and Benchmarks"
