Romania Celebrates National Veterinary Doctor’s Day

As every year, the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) marks National Veterinary Doctor’s Day — a moment to celebrate and recognize the essential contribution that veterinary professionals make to both Romanian and European society.

May 15 is the day we honor the professionalism, responsibility, and dedication of those who safeguard not only animal health but also the safety of the food consumed by citizens. These specialists play a crucial role in preventing and controlling transmissible diseases, protecting public health, and contributing significantly to the national economy.

Over more than two decades of ANSVSA’s existence, the institution has become a pillar of food safety and animal health, thanks to the ongoing commitment and involvement of veterinary doctors.

Veterinary professionals have distinguished themselves through the successful implementation of surveillance and control programs, the effective management of veterinary health crises, and close cooperation with international partners.

Dr. Alexandru Bociu, President of ANSVSA, emphasized:
