Five professors from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca have been included in the Top World Ranking of Scientists 2%, according to the ranking released by Stanford University (California, USA), in collaboration with Elsevier Publishing and the scientific research organization SciTech Strategies.

From Romania, 238 researchers are listed in this ranking. In total, the works of over 10 million scientists from 22 fields and 176 subfields were analyzed during the period 1996-2022, providing a comprehensive database of the most significant articles written worldwide.

Representatives from USAMV Cluj-Napoca included in this ranking are found in the categories "Opera Omnia" (For the entire career) and "For the year 2022." These categories provide information about the impact of the most widely-read scientists globally throughout their entire careers or for the year 2022.

In a first for USAMV Cluj-Napoca, a faculty member is included in the "Opera Omnia" category – Prof. Dr. Dan C. Vodnar, Vice-Rector for Research, who ranks 64th nationally out of 169 scientists and 197,695th globally.

The "For the year 2022" category includes faculty members from three USAMV Cluj-Napoca faculties, as follows: Faculty of Food Science and Technology - Prof. Dr. Dan Vodnar, ranked 20th nationally and 26,211th globally; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zorița Diaconeasa, ranked 86th nationally and 114,636th globally. Faculty of Agriculture - Prof. Dr. Francisc Dulf, ranked 104th nationally and 134,089th globally. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Prof. Dr. Andrei D. Mihalca, ranked 141st nationally and 181,796th globally, and Prof. Dr. Adela Pintea, ranked 162nd nationally and 230,388th globally.
