During the period from January 1st to July 31st, 2023, the turnover volume in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased compared to the period from January 1st to July 31st, 2022, both in the gross series by 2.7% and as adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 2.6%.

The turnover volume in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in the gross series, in July 2023 compared to the previous month, increased overall by 5.7%, due to increases in retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (+10.5%), sales of food products, beverages, and tobacco (+5.5%), and sales of non-food products (+3.4%).

The turnover volume in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), as adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, decreased overall in July 2023 compared to the previous month by 0.3%, due to decreases in retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (-1.3%) and sales of food products, beverages, and tobacco (-0.6%). Sales of non-food products increased by 1.0%.

July 2023 Compared to July 2022

The turnover volume in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in the gross series, in July 2023 compared to July 2022, recorded an overall increase of 0.7%, due to the increase in sales of non-food products (+5.3%).

Decreases were recorded in retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (-5.2%) and sales of food products, beverages, and tobacco (-0.6%).

The turnover volume in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in the gross series, during the period from January 1st to July 31st, 2023, compared to the period from January 1st to July 31st, 2022, recorded an overall increase of 2.7%, due to increases in sales of non-food products (+4.4%) and sales of food products, beverages, and tobacco (+3.6%).

Retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores decreased by 2.3%. The turnover volume in retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), as adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, during the period from January 1st to July 31st, 2023, compared to the period from January 1st to July 31st, 2022, recorded an overall increase of 2.6%, due to increases in sales of non-food products (+4.1%) and sales of food products, beverages, and tobacco (+3.1%).
