According to the INS (National Institute of Statistics), the turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in vehicles and motorcycles) decreased compared to December 2023, both in gross terms by 20.0% and in terms adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 6.3%.
Compared to January 2023, the turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in vehicles and motorcycles) in January 2024 increased, both in gross terms, by 1.2%, and in terms adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 2.1%.
January 2024 compared to December 2023
The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in vehicles and motorcycles), in gross terms, in January 2024 compared to the previous month, decreased overall by 20.0%, as a result of the decrease in turnover in wholesale trade of computer and telecommunications equipment (-41.3%), wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (-38.2%), wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (-29.2%), wholesale trade activities (-25.1%), wholesale trade of food, beverages, and tobacco (-15.1%), wholesale trade of consumer goods other than food (-15.0%), specialized wholesale trade of other products (-3.4%), and non-specialized wholesale trade (-1.5%).
The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in vehicles and motorcycles), adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, in January 2024 compared to the previous month, decreased nominally overall by 6.3%.
January 2024 compared to January 2023
The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in vehicles and motorcycles), in gross terms, in January 2024 compared to January 2023, increased overall by 1.2%, due to the increase in turnover in wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (+26.1%), non-specialized wholesale trade (+20.2%), wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (+10.6%), and specialized wholesale trade of other products (+8.4%).
Decreases were recorded in wholesale trade of computer and telecommunications equipment (-14.0%), wholesale trade activities (-13.2%), wholesale trade of consumer goods other than food (-10.5%), and wholesale trade of food, beverages, and tobacco (-2.9%).
