INS: Romania's international trade balance deficit with food products has deepened

In November 2023, FOB exports amounted to 8,222.0 million euros, while CIF imports totaled 10,579.7 million euros, resulting in a deficit of 2,357.7 million euros.

Compared to November 2022, exports in November 2023 decreased by 2.2%, and imports decreased by 3.9%.

For the period from January 1 to November 30, 2023, FOB exports totaled 86,921.9 million euros, and CIF imports amounted to 112,477.2 million euros. In this period, exports increased by 2.0%, while imports decreased by 3.2%, compared to the same period in 2022.

The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) for the period from January 1 to November 30, 2023, was 25,555.3 million euros, which is 5,450.0 million euros (-17.6%) lower than the deficit recorded in the same period in 2022.

According to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Romania's international trade deficit in food products and live animals reached approximately 3 billion euros during the period from January 1 to November 30, 2023.

In this category, Romania had exports of approximately 6.6 billion euros but had imports of over 9.8 billion euros.
