INS: Romania's food imports increased by 1.8 billion euros

According to the INS, FOB exports totaled 7,873.7 million euros, and CIF imports totaled 9,923.1 million euros, resulting in a deficit of 2,049.4 million euros.

Compared to February 2022, exports in February 2023 increased by 11.8%, and imports increased by 4.2%.

In the period 1.I-28.II 2023, FOB exports totaled 15,034.6 million euros, and CIF imports totaled 19,419.3 million euros.

In the period 1.I-28.II 2023, exports increased by 9.0%, and imports increased by 5.4%, compared to the period 1.I-28.II 2022. Trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) in the period 1.I-28.II 2023 it was 4384.7 million euros, lower by 232.0 million euros (-5.0%) than that recorded in the period 1.I-28.II 2022.

Romania's imports of food and live animals increased in the analyzed period, compared to the same period last year, by 27%, which means a value of 1.8 billion euros.
