INS: Between 1.01 and 30.09 Romania imported food products worth about 8 billion euros

In September 2023, FOB (Free On Board) exports amounted to 8,125.3 million euros, while CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) imports totaled 10,276.6 million euros, resulting in a deficit of 2,151.3 million euros.

Compared to September 2022, exports in September 2023 decreased by 5.3%, and imports decreased by 11.1%.

For the period January 1 to September 30, 2023, FOB exports totaled 70,291.4 million euros, and CIF imports amounted to 90,680.2 million euros.

During this January-September 2023 period, exports increased by 2.1%, and imports decreased by 3.4%, compared to the same period in 2022.

The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) for the January-September 2023 period was 20,388.8 million euros, which is 4,600.5 million euros lower (-18.4%) than the deficit recorded in the same period in 2022.

Unfortunately, Romania's trade deficit in food products and live animals has continued to grow. The import in this segment amounted to almost 8 billion euros from the beginning of the year until September 30, 2023.
