Kaufland Romania opens two stores, one in Zalău and one in the Militari Residence neighborhood in Bucharest, thus reaching a network of 177 hypermarkets nationwide.

By opening the new stores, Kaufland has created approximately 130 jobs, supporting the development of local communities.

Located at Drumul Osiei 78, Sector 6, the new Kaufland Bucharest is built on a total area of almost 6,000 square meters, with a sales area of over 3,200 square meters. It includes a commercial gallery, providing access to a variety of shops and services, such as TIP TOP for confectionery and cooked food, Tabac EXPRESS, CLEANSPOTSERVICE dry cleaning and tailoring, Dr. Max Pharmacy, Multibanco ATM, and EasyBox, DPD, and FANbox parcel services.

The working hours are Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 22:00, and Sunday from 08:00 to 21:00.

On the occasion of the inauguration, Bucharest residents are invited with special discounts on non-food items from the ranges of appliances and clothing, subject to available stock, and daily discounts of 30% for various product categories.

The new Kaufland Militari Residence distinguishes itself from other stores in the country by being the first store built from eco-friendly concrete. ECOPact is a concrete with low carbon emissions and offers 100% performance, with CO2 emissions 30% lower compared to standard concrete (CEM I), thus Kaufland aims to contribute to reducing pollution in urban areas.

The new store in Zalău, Salaj County, is located at Corneliu Coposu Street, No. 142, and has a total area of over 5,000 square meters, of which 3,000 square meters are allocated to the indoor sales space. The hypermarket will open its doors to the public on Thursday, February 29, and will operate between 07:00-22:00, Monday to Saturday, and between 08:00-20:00 on Sunday.

Both stores are equipped with generous parking lots, with 275 available spaces in Bucharest and 205 in Zalău, including parking spaces for parents and people with disabilities. Those who choose alternative transportation have access to charging stations for electric cars and bicycle racks.

To ensure a fast flow of customers and reduced time for shopping, each hypermarket is equipped with 15 and 14 cash registers – both standard and express, self-checkout type. In addition, both stores will implement the K-Scan service, which allows customers to scan products themselves for quick payment at the checkout.

Both stores offer an extended range of fruits and vegetables, fresh products at the assisted service counter, bakery, frozen products section, basic foods, sweets, beverages, non-food products, and household items. At the Grill point outside, customers are welcomed with a variety of menus and hot dishes.

As a continuation of Kaufland's commitment to the environment, the new hypermarkets are equipped with separate collection systems, where customers are rewarded for returned packaging:

• Inside the stores, customers will find a self-service recycling machine where they can recycle packaging in exchange for extra discount vouchers. They can bring PET, glass, and metal packaging (up to 3 liters in volume) here, with a guarantee of 0.50 RON being refunded only for packages with the "Guaranteed Packaging" symbol printed on the label.

• Also in the entrance area, in the specially arranged space in the form of a tortoise, customers can deposit packaging from personal care or cleaning products for recycling and will be rewarded on the spot with 35% discount vouchers for the purchase of other new products from the monthly offer.

Customers can deposit empty plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, face or hand cream, mouthwash, or liquid soap, as well as empty containers of cleaning products, such as laundry or dish detergents, kitchen cleaning solutions, bathroom, floor, or window cleaners.
