For the past two days, the Royal Domain of Săvârșin has hosted the Soul of Romania Festival, an event that encourages households to connect with the community and helps the inhabitants of this country discover small local producers, traditions, and authentic customs of the Romanian village.

Initiated by Profi to encourage the community to further appreciate authentic values, good tastes, and the traditions of the Romanian village, the Soul of Romania Festival is part of the tripartite agreement "Growing Communities," signed by the Association of Her Majesty's House, "Mihai I" University of Life Sciences in Timișoara, and the Profi retail chain to support local producers and preserve authentic and traditional Romanian craftsmanship.

On April 29th and 30th, between 12:00 and 19:00, the Soul of Romania Festival offered participants the opportunity to travel to a timeless village, during the times of traditional gatherings. In addition to meeting over 40 small local producers and their offerings, visitors had the opportunity to watch valuable Romanian films and enjoy concerts by Mircea Baniciu, Nicu Alifantis, Daniel Julean, and Trupa Calendar, along with folk music ensembles and classical music.

On Saturday, during the official opening of the Soul of Romania Festival, Her Majesty Margareta, the Custodian of the Romanian Crown, Prince Radu, central and local authorities, and several NGOs supported by Profi took part in the event to contribute to the well-being of the community.

For Profi, organizing the Soul of Romania Festival is a natural continuation of its broader program to support local producers and its commitment to being a retailer deeply rooted in community life and the development of Romania.

"To fall in love with a place, you need to understand it, know its customs, and discover its authentic values. This is best accomplished by going back to the roots, to the village that preserves good tastes, kind people, and traditions that carry a long and beautiful story. It is no coincidence that we are in a place steeped in history because we want to continue writing history together here, in Romania.

This is Profi's mission! Beyond the commitment to offer low prices daily, at Profi, we put our heart into Romania! We put our heart into the community and everything that matters!" emphasized Gaetan Pacton, the General Director of Profi.

"The Royal Domain of Săvârșin has become a meeting place this weekend for people who put their heart into Romania, just as we do every day in the Profi network. Participants in the Soul of Romania Festival can meet authentic artisans, delve into the miracle of Romanian villages, and continue the beautiful tradition of our country, where we want to grow and develop together.

We have thought about the little ones, families, and those who seek to discover the best of Romanian villages using all their senses so that they have something valuable to share and contribute to our common goal: to put our heart into Romania.

The only chance for development and well-being is through involvement, which we do together, especially during these festive days," stated Călin Costinaș, Deputy General Director of Profi, during the opening ceremony of the Soul of Romania Festival.

Profi supports local producers.

For Profi, community involvement is a tradition to which it dedicates time and resources, including the Local Delicacies Shelf, the most comprehensive program supporting small artisanal local producers.

The first initiative in which Profi brought together small artisanal local producers was in September 2022 at the Festival in Apoș. Subsequently, the Local Delicacies Shelf was launched in stores, initially in Cluj and Dâmbovița.

At the end of March, Alba became the second county, after Bistrita, where the program was implemented this year. In 2023, Profi aims to bring the Local Goodies Shelf with meat, canned goods, dairy, egg, bakery, fish, bee products, vegetables and fruit specialties to 10 areas of the country and bring together at least 100 local producers.
