Mr. Aurel Simion, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, participated in the Closing Conference of the project "Enhancing MADR's Capacity to Develop Specific Policies and Regulations for the Implementation of a National Strategic System for Traceability and Integrity of Agri-Food Products" - Code SIPOCA/SMIS2014+: 589/126983.

The Closing Conference, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as the project beneficiary, aims to inform all stakeholders in the agri-food chain about the results achieved and to present the impact and benefits for institutions and citizens.

Within the project, analyses and studies were conducted to contribute to the development of proposals for public policies in the agri-food sector, in line with the Public Administration Consolidation Strategy 2014-2020 and the National Strategy for Sustainable Development of Romania 2030.

The innovative character of the project was given by the development of an Integrated Information Management and Monitoring System (SIIMM) in the agri-food sector, implemented to contribute to ensuring traceability and integrity of agri-food products.

The project's objective is to strengthen MADR's capacity to develop evidence-based public policy proposals in the agri-food sector, reduce administrative burdens for the business environment, and implement simplification measures for citizens.

The project took place over a period of 51 months, from September 13, 2019, to December 29, 2023, with a total eligible value of 27,989,984.07 lei, including:

• Non-repayable eligible value (non-repayable financial assistance from the European Social Fund, through the Operational Program Administrative Capacity) in the amount of 23,507,069.83 lei
• Beneficiary MADR's eligible co-financing in the amount of 4,482,914.24 lei.
