Mirdatod Prod, a company based in Ibănești-Mureș, has become a Partner and will participate once again at the Meat Milk International Expo-Conference, which will take place on the 27th and 28th of May at Hotel Alpin in Poiana Brașov. They will showcase their delicious dairy products at the stand they will have set up in the Expo area.
SC MIRDATOD PROD SRL was established in 1994, with its headquarters in the commune of Ibănești, Mureș County. Geographically situated in the mountainous area of Mureș County, at the foothills of the Gurghiu Mountains.
The exceptional geographical area, climate conditions, mountainous relief, and rich, specific flora offer special characteristics to the raw milk and consequently to the dairy products obtained through its processing.
The company's main activity is the collection of raw milk and the production of dairy products. The workforce, at all production levels, amounts to over 200 employees, who are skilled in this segment of production, continuously undergoing qualification and training courses.
In early 2015, the European site presented Telemeaua de Ibăneşti as a product with Protected Designation of Origin.
The skill of those at Mirdatod, reflected in the quality of their products, has not gone unnoticed by the competent authorities, who encouraged the company's representatives to initiate the process of obtaining European certification.
In 2021, despite all the difficulties created by the health crisis, Mirdatod opened one of the most modern milk processing factories in Romania in Reghin. But, regarding the unmistakable flavor of Mirdatod's dairy products, the most appropriate words are those spoken by the brothers Mircea and David Todoran, the owners of the company:
"Ever since we were placed on this Earth by God, we've revolved around taste. Because, no matter what we do, at least us, Romanians, we always end up at a table laid with dishes, be it lunch or dinner, wedding or funeral, whether we cook out of hunger or just to 'taste' something. In one way or another, we elevated taste to the rank of art.
It's the art of cooking Romanian cuisine well, of using in food everything that the land gives us best, the art of satisfying not our hunger, but the need to eat something good, something flavorful, something that either awakens a memory or creates one. This is where we started: with taste.
To give taste to a milk product isn't rocket science. You just have to respect the ingredients, the process, and its result. Where does this unique taste of our products come from?
Well, first of all, from respect for the locals and their work, from respect for the way they raise and feed their animals, we only use milk from local producers from the Gurghiu Valley.
Because these people don't raise their animals with compound feed and chemicals. And even now, in the holy 21st century, they let their cows out to pasture from early spring until the snow falls.
And when the snow comes, they put in the barn hay cut since summer. And all these can be felt in the taste of our products. Secondly, we don't mess around with milk. We treat it with respect and protect it, without squeezing it dry until its taste disappears just for the sake of record productions and money. We leave it in God's hands, to give us everything he has best when and how he knows best.
And then there's also the brine; the brine from Orșova. We don't put salt in any of our products. Our salting process is done in the brine that we bring from the spring in Orșova, just as the land gives it to us. But above all, there's the love of the people who work in the manufacturing at Ibănești.
Above all, there's the respect these people have for their work, for what comes out of their hands, for what we put on your table. And, why not, above all these, there's our stubbornness to always move forward, to not look back at hardships but only at experiences, to always taste the products before sending them to the stores. Out of respect for you and for our work."
Today, over 200 employees work in both factories, after development was ensured by accessing European funds four times, totaling over 8 million euros, with the company having a turnover in 2023 of 27.3 million euros.
