Minister of Agriculture Florin Barbu Attends AgriFish Council Meeting in Brussels

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin Barbu, participated in the AgriFish Council meeting, held in Brussels.

The Council conducted a public policy debate on the European Commission’s Communication titled “A Vision for Agriculture and the Food Sector”, published on February 19, 2025.

Additionally, during an informal meeting, European officials discussed common fisheries policy matters.

🔹 High-Level Conference on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and Food Security – Information provided by the Presidency, in a public session.

🔹 Eligibility of Expenditures for the Purchase of Breeding Animals under CAP Strategic Plans – Information presented by the Romanian delegation, in a public session.

🔹 Implementation of Article 14 of the Fisheries Control Regulation – Discussion on tolerance margins for unsorted landings of small pelagic species, presented by the Latvian and Lithuanian delegations, in a public session.
