AFIR Supports Certified Romanian Products and Services Through the Unique CPAC App
The Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) promotes high-quality Romanian products and services, certified at both national and European levels, through the CPAC – Catalog of Certified Products and Activities. This unique application in Romania was developed by AFIR to support authentic local producers and service providers.
When CPAC was launched in 2018, it included 230 producers and 753 certified products. Since then, the numbers have grown significantly. As of now, the app features:
The application currently lists 178 Local Gastronomic Points—small-scale food establishments that prepare and serve dishes based on traditional local recipes and ingredients from local primary production.
Users can discover internationally recognized Romanian products and their respective producers within the app. Some notable examples include:
Wine Cellars Section (CRAME)
The app also features a CRAME section, which displays certified wineries on a GPS map. These include DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin), PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), and varietal-certified wineries. Users can directly view, contact, and navigate to these wineries from within the app.
Advanced Search and Filters
CPAC allows users to search and filter certified producers and products by various criteria, such as location (county or radius), certification type, or product category.
A Comprehensive Registry
The CPAC app includes all certified producers recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) and all Romanian food products certified at both national and EU level, based on the National Register of Traditional Products (RNPT).
It also features beneficiaries of non-reimbursable funding through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) for agritourism and rural tourism-related activities.
Free, Volunteer-Based Development
The CPAC application was developed entirely on a volunteer basis by AFIR’s internal IT team and is freely available to all users.
