The Romanian food retail network, Profi, announces that it is strengthening its management team by enriching it with specialists who bring valuable international experience to the field. Starting in May, Eric Tavoukdjian joined this team as the Chief Commercial Officer.
"I am honored and excited to accept the invitation to be part of the leadership of a network with vision and entrepreneurial spirit that is evolving rapidly," says Eric Tavoukdjian. "In the few months since I joined here, I have become convinced that Profi has enormous potential, which I intend to leverage together with my new colleagues for the benefit of the company, its suppliers, and, last but not least, our customers."
A graduate of the ISG Institut Supérieur de Gestion, Eric comes to Profi with a wealth of experience gained while working in various countries for major retail networks in Europe.
Eric has previously served as Sales Director and Marketing Director at Tesco Hungary, later becoming the Customer Operations Director for Tesco in Central Europe. He continued his career for several years in the United Kingdom as the Commercial Marketing Director at Costa Coffee before becoming the Commercial Director at Dealz Mainland Europe, part of the Pepco Group Ltd, a position from which he decided to join the top management team at Profi.
With 28,000 employees in 1,657 own stores and partner stores present in 807 urban and rural locations, Profi is the largest private employer in Romania. The four store formats of the network, PROFI SUPER, PROFI CITY, PROFI GO, and PROFI LOCO, offer a range of 5,000 products appreciated by over 1.4 million customers who shop in these stores daily. More than 94% of these products come from suppliers in Romania. The company's turnover of 11.6 billion lei places it third in the Romanian retail market.
