The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Dr. Fogolyán Kristóf County Emergency Hospital in Sfântu Gheorghe has been equipped with vital medical devices for the care of the hospital’s youngest and most fragile patients.
The intervention was carried out by the Cristi Vasiliu Association – ACV Romania, through the PULS INTENSIV Fund, Romania’s only national fund dedicated exclusively to supporting Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. “The equipment delivered with the support of Profi is more than an act of corporate social responsibility. It is a direct investment in the lives of prematurely born or seriously ill children and a model of partnership that we hope to replicate in as many hospitals across the country as possible,” said Delia Vasiliu, President of the Cristi Vasiliu Association / ACV Romania.
“At Profi, we believe every newborn deserves the best possible start in life. We are proud to support the PULS Intensiv Fund of ACV Romania, contributing to the equipping of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Sfântu Gheorghe with essential equipment that directly impacts the care of the most vulnerable patients. This is not only a gesture of responsibility and empathy toward the community, but also an investment in the future,“ stated Gabriela Sîrbu, Sustainability Director, Profi.
“Caring for premature or critically ill newborns is one of the most delicate and vital missions of any hospital. Every step forward in equipping the NICU is a step forward for the entire community. We are grateful to the Cristi Vasiliu Association and sponsor Profi for their tangible involvement in helping us improve the quality of care in our neonatal intensive care department,” said András-Nagy Róbert, Hospital Manager.
Dr. Gyulai Gabriella, Head of the Neonatology Department, emphasized: “Every newborn we care for is fighting a battle – and we need all possible resources to support them. The recent delivery of intensive care equipment means, first and foremost, more chances at life. We are deeply grateful to ACV Romania and sponsor Profi for their concrete support, which directly translates into better care for our smallest and most vulnerable patients. We hope this partnership will continue, allowing us to bring in a multifunctional ultrasound machine, a telemedicine system, and new training opportunities for our medical team.”
A Call to Action
Delia Vasiliu, President of ACV Romania, launched an open call to the community:
“This intervention was an important step, but our journey doesn’t stop here. We aim to connect the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Sfântu Gheorghe to the national telemedicine network and provide continuous training programs for the medical staff, essential in the treatment of critical cases. We need the full support of the community. Every sponsorship, donation, or SMS sent with the word PULS to 8845 (2 EUR/month) is a real contribution toward safer, more effective medical care.”
This initiative is part of the PULS Intensiv Fund, a national program by the Cristi Vasiliu Association, dedicated to the modernization and equipping of Neonatal Intensive Care Units across Romania through infrastructure, advanced medical equipment, a telemedicine network, and medical staff development.
