In the Government meeting, the Decision on establishing the general framework for the implementation of co-financed operations from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund through the 2021-2027 Fisheries and Aquaculture Programme (FAP) was adopted.
During the 2021-2027 programming period, Romania will benefit from non-repayable public financial assistance for the fishing and aquaculture sector, including the communities where these activities are practiced.
Establishing the general framework for the implementation of co-financed operations from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund through the 2021-2027 Fisheries and Aquaculture Programme was necessary following the approval by the European Commission of Romania's 2021-2027 Fisheries and Aquaculture Programme for support from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund.
Thus, this legislative act establishes, for the 2021-2027 programming period, the rules applicable to expenses incurred from non-repayable EU external funds and national co-financing of operations from the state budget.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through the Directorate-General for Fisheries - Managing Authority for the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, is obligated to ensure the fulfillment of duties arising from functions provided by European and national legislation and to take concrete measures to ensure the judicious and efficient management of European funds allocated to the fishing and aquaculture sector.
