Agricultural Payments and Intervention Agency (APIA) reports that the authorization for farmers' payments continues at a sustained pace.

The total amount authorized for payment from October 16, 2023, to January 11, 2024, is 1.66 billion euros, of which 1.50 billion euros represent authorized amounts from European and national funds for a total of 714,041 farmers who submitted payment applications in the 2023 campaign.

Broken down by funds, the amounts are as follows:

  • 1.16 billion euros from EAGF (European Agricultural Guarantee Fund);
  • 254.52 million euros from EAFRD (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) and national co-financing;
  • 86.20 million euros.

Additionally, 156.80 million euros have been authorized for interventions related to market measures, foreign trade, promotion of agricultural products from EAGF, and state aid from the national budget.

It is emphasized that, in accordance with current legal norms, payments are made only after completing all mandatory procedural verification and administrative control stages, both on-site and through classic and monitoring controls.

Farmers in Romania are urged to trust APIA, thanking them for their continuous support during a period that brought challenges due to changes in the National Strategic Plan (PNS) for 2023-2027. Farmers are assured that all efforts will be made to complete payments by June 30, 2024, in accordance with the current European provisions.

The APIA team has demonstrated that performance involves many hours of work, perseverance, and a spirit of collaboration with all involved institutions.
