Romania’s Trade Deficit Widened by 24.5% in the First Four Months of 2025
According to the latest report by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Romania’s FOB exports in April 2025 amounted to €7,867.9 million, while CIF imports totaled €11,008.9 million, resulting in a trade deficit of €3,141.0 million.
Compared to April 2024, exports decreased by 5.2%, while imports rose by 0.4%.
During the period January 1 – April 30, 2025, Romania recorded FOB exports of €31,457.1 million and CIF imports of €43,063.4 million.
In comparison to the same period in 2024, exports increased by 0.5%, while imports rose by 6.0%.
The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) for the first four months of 2025 amounted to €11,606.3 million, representing an increase of €2,284.3 million or +24.5% over the same period in 2024.
