Dutch dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina intends to reshape its business structure as it strives to improve performance, as reported by European Supermarket Magazine.

The restructuring plan involves creating seven business groups, each led by an executive team, according to a company statement.

The Food & Beverage segment will be divided into five separate business groups: Europe; Retail & Americas; Middle East, Pakistan, and Africa; Asia; and Professional.

The Professional and Commercial units will come under the leadership of a single president, while the Ingredients and Specialized Nutrition units will remain unchanged.

The new divisions will capture the diverse nature of the business portfolio and the different "go-to-market" strategies required, the company stated.

This decision follows the appointment of Jan Derck van Karnebeek as CEO starting from June 1, 2023.

Jan Derck van Karnebeek, CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V., said: "The company's profitability is under pressure. Therefore, in the coming period, we will take the necessary steps to improve profitability. The first step is to reshape our top structure and announce the corresponding appointments.

I am confident that, with this new leadership team, we will fulfill FrieslandCampina's purpose of providing better nutrition to the world, a good living for our farmers, now and for future generations."

The proposed executive team consists of Dustin Woodward as President of the Europe division; Tuncay Özgüner as President of Retail & Americas; Ali Khan as President of the Middle East, Pakistan, and Africa; Corine Tap as President of Asia; Roger Loo as President of the Professional and Commercial unit; Herman Ermens as President of the Ingredients division; and Harvey Uong as President of Specialized Nutrition.

Other members of the team include Patricia Snel, Chief People Officer; Mireille Einwachter, Sustainability Director; Davis Cutter, Supply Chain Director and Chief Research and Development Officer; Hans Jensen, Chief Financial Officer; and Jan Derck van Karnebeek, Chief Executive Officer.

The proposed appointments for the executive teams are set to take effect on October 1, with the new organizational structure, including the seven business groups, scheduled to come into effect on January 1, 2024.

Roel van Neerbos will remain a member of the executive team as President of Food & Beverage until November 1, 2023, FrieslandCampina added.
