INS: Retail Trade Turnover in March 2023

In March 2023, the volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased compared to February 2023, both in raw series by 17.9% and in series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 2.9%.

Compared to March 2022, the volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased in March 2023, both in raw series by 7.3% and in series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 6.7%.

During the period January 1 to March 31, 2023, the volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased compared to the period January 1 to March 31, 2022, both in raw series by 5.2% and in series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 5.1%.

March 2023 compared to February 2023:

The volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in raw series, increased by 17.9% in March 2023 compared to the previous month, mainly due to increases in sales of non-food products (+19.8%), retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (+16.8%), and sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products (+16.5%).

The volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, increased by 2.9% in March 2023 compared to the previous month, mainly due to increases in sales of non-food products (+3.1%), sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products (+2.0%), and retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (+0.6%).

March 2023 compared to March 2022:

The volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in raw series, increased by 7.3% in March 2023 compared to March 2022, mainly due to increases in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products (+9.5%), non-food products (+6.3%), and retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (+5.3%).

The volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, increased by 6.7% in March 2023 compared to March 2022, mainly due to increases in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products (+6.2%), retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (+5.5%), and sales of non-food products (+5.1%).

Period January 1 to March 31, 2023, compared to period January 1 to March 31, 2022:

The volume of turnover in the retail trade (excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), in raw series, increased by 5.2% during the period January 1 to March 31, 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, mainly due to increases in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products (+7.3%) and sales of non-food products (+5.9%).
