In March 2024, the turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased compared to February 2024 by 7.1% as a gross series and decreased by 1.5% as a series adjusted for working days and seasonality.

Compared to March 2023, the turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) in March 2024 decreased by 7.0% as a gross series and increased by 1.7% as a series adjusted for working days and seasonality.

In the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024, the turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) decreased compared to the period from January 1 to March 31, 2023, by 0.7% as a gross series and increased by 2.3% as a series adjusted for working days and seasonality.

March 2024 Compared to February 2024

The turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a gross series, increased overall by 7.1% in March 2024 compared to the previous month. This was due to the increase in turnover from:

  • Wholesale trade intermediation activities (+23.8%)
  • Wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (+12.5%)
  • Specialized wholesale trade of other products (+10.5%)
  • Wholesale trade of food, beverages, and tobacco (+8.5%)
  • Wholesale trade of information and communication equipment (+8.4%)
  • Non-specialized wholesale trade (+5.3%)
  • Wholesale trade of consumer goods, other than food (+3.8%)

Wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals decreased by 4.0%. The turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a series adjusted for working days and seasonality, decreased overall by 1.5% in March 2024 compared to the previous month.

March 2024 Compared to March 2023

The turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a gross series, decreased overall by 7.0% in March 2024 compared to March 2023. This was due to the decrease in:

  • Wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (-14.2%)
  • Wholesale trade of food, beverages, and tobacco (-13.9%)
  • Wholesale trade of consumer goods, other than food (-11.1%)
  • Wholesale trade intermediation activities (-9.7%)
  • Wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (-1.5%)

Increases were recorded in:

  • Non-specialized wholesale trade (+4.0%)
  • Specialized wholesale trade of other products (+1.8%)
  • Wholesale trade of information and communication equipment (+0.1%)

The turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a series adjusted for working days and seasonality, increased overall by 1.7% in March 2024 compared to March 2023.

January 1 - March 31, 2024 Compared to January 1 - March 31, 2023

The turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a gross series, decreased overall by 0.7% in the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024, compared to the same period in 2023. This was due to the decrease in:

  • Wholesale trade intermediation activities (-10.9%)
  • Wholesale trade of consumer goods, other than food (-9.5%)
  • Wholesale trade of food, beverages, and tobacco (-7.6%)
  • Wholesale trade of information and communication equipment (-4.0%)

Increases were recorded in:

  • Non-specialized wholesale trade (+12.1%)
  • Specialized wholesale trade of other products (+9.6%)
  • Wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment, and supplies (+6.6%)
  • Wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (+6.4%)

The turnover from wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), as a series adjusted for working days and seasonality, increased overall by 2.3% in the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024, compared to the same period in 2023.
