According to the INS (National Institute of Statistics), in July 2023, FOB exports amounted to 7,656.1 million euros, while CIF imports amounted to 9,937.6 million euros, resulting in a deficit of 2,281.5 million euros.
Compared to July 2022, exports in July 2023 decreased by 3.0%, and imports decreased by 11.5%.
In the period from January 1 to July 31, 2023, FOB exports amounted to 55,085.4 million euros, while CIF imports amounted to 70,689.1 million euros.
During the period from January 1 to July 31, 2023, exports increased by 4.6%, while imports decreased by 1.1%, compared to the same period in 2022.
The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) during the period from January 1 to July 31, 2023, was 15,603.7 million euros, which is 3,200.8 million euros (-17.0%) lower than the deficit recorded in the same period in 2022.
In the period from January 1 to July 31, 2023, important shares in the structure of exports and imports are held by product groups: machinery and transport equipment (44.8% in exports and 36.3% in imports) and other manufactured products (30.3% in exports and 29.2% in imports).
The value of intra-EU27 goods trade in the period from January 1 to July 31, 2023, was 40,104.6 million euros for exports and 52,006.6 million euros for imports, representing 72.8% of total exports and 73.6% of total imports.
The value of extra-EU27 goods trade in the period from January 1 to July 31, 2023, was 14,980.8 million euros for exports and 18,682.5 million euros for imports, representing 27.2% of total exports and 26.4% of total imports.
Unfortunately, Romania's imports of food and live animals increased by an additional 15% in July of this year, reaching a value of 6.2 billion euros.
