Kaufland Romania joins the coalition of funders supporting the Good Infrastructure as a key partner in implementing digital solutions dedicated to vulnerable groups, built and managed by Code for Romania.

The Good Infrastructure refers to the integrated digital solutions needed by the non-governmental sector in Romania to enhance their intervention capacity, assist as many beneficiaries as possible, effect critical changes swiftly, and adopt technology built to the highest standards in their work.

Over the past eight years, Code for Romania has undertaken the most ambitious research project in Romania to deeply understand the most pressing needs in five key areas: Education, Environment, Vulnerable Groups, Health, and Civic Participation.

This effort has resulted in over 350 digital solutions that Romania needs to address the challenges faced by its citizens. These solutions represent the Good Infrastructure, sustainable digitalization in Romania's most critical key areas. Code for Romania has already developed over 60 digital solutions that daily respond to critical issues.

From case management solutions to information access, service accessibility, capacity-building tools for the NGO sector, and many other applications dedicated to solving social issues. "Romania faces significant challenges when it comes to infrastructure designed to provide real opportunities for vulnerable groups.

For over five years, we have scrutinized this underfunded sector, difficult to understand and navigate, and we have endeavored, as in all other areas, to go further and address these deficiencies with possible solutions that together we can turn into reality.

The Good Infrastructure is the digital infrastructure that all stakeholders fighting for the rights of vulnerable groups and for offering efficient and tailored services to their problems needed yesterday.

We are pleased to have such a dedicated partner in this sector as Kaufland Romania alongside us, and we are confident that together we can harness technology for those who need it most," said Bogdan Ivănel, CEO, Code for Romania / Commit Global. About "Involvement Makes a Difference"

Kaufland Romania has a long tradition of involvement in social responsibility projects. Each year, the company carries out a series of actions aimed at supporting local communities, the environment, and health.

Between March 2023 and February 2024, the company supported over 120 projects with donations and investments totaling approximately 9.7 million euros. Moreover, in 2023, for the sixth consecutive year, Kaufland Romania ranked first in the national index of the most sustainable companies, awarded by the CST Index. "At Kaufland, we firmly believe that Involvement Makes a Difference! It is the driving force behind our commitment and responsibility to the community we are part of.

We are constantly involved in projects that support vulnerable groups, and our partnership with Code for Romania adds value because their digital solutions offer an integrated approach with long-term impact. We are delighted to contribute to the Good Infrastructure," said Anna Katharina Scheidereiter, CSR Manager, Kaufland Romania.
