The Agriculture Payments and Intervention Agency (APIA) announces that to date, it has authorized a total payment amount of 105.016 million euros for beneficiaries of Measure 14 - Animal Welfare Payments - Package a) Swine and Package b) Poultry from the 2022 Campaign.

The total authorized amount of 105.016 million euros corresponds to a total of 436 beneficiaries, with 33.706 million euros allocated for swine welfare and 71.310 million euros for poultry welfare.

Payments are made in the local currency, at the exchange rate of 4.9490 lei per euro, established by the European Central Bank on December 31, 2021, and published in the Official Journal of the European Union series C no. 2022/C1/02.

The financial support takes the form of an annual fixed payment per livestock unit (LU) and serves as compensation for income losses and additional costs incurred by farmers who voluntarily undertake commitments in favor of animal welfare.
