Artificial Intelligence Gains Ground in Romanians’ Daily Lives, Study Shows

The latest study conducted by Reveal Marketing Research highlights the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the daily lives of Romanians and explores key trends in the use of this technology.

AI Seen as Useful, Even Among Non-Users

According to the study:

  • 67% of Romanians consider AI useful — including 53% of those who do not currently use it.
  • Nearly half of Romanians (47%) use AI in their daily activities, with usage higher among women (51%) than men (42%), and significantly higher among young people aged 18–24 (70%).
  • Among AI users, 83% view the technology as beneficial, while 53% of non-users also acknowledge its potential.

ChatGPT, Gemini, and Siri Lead the Way

ChatGPT is the most widely used AI platform in Romania, cited by 60% of users, followed by Gemini (29%) and Siri (21%).

Top Uses for AI: Information, Learning, and Entertainment

AI is most often used for:

  • General information searches (73%) – especially among people over 45 (87%),
  • Education and learning (45%) – most popular with users under 35 (53%),
  • Entertainment (37%),
  • Work-related support (31%), and
  • Personal planning (19%).

“This study reflects the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence into Romanians’ everyday lives. The fact that even non-users recognize its benefits shows AI’s massive potential to influence both personal and professional decisions. AI is no longer a futuristic option — it is now a practical, accessible tool for everyone,” said Marius Luican, CEO of Reveal Marketing Research.

How Romanians Interact with AI

Among current users:

  • 66% interact through text messages,
  • 15% use voice commands, and
  • 19% combine both methods.

Women are more likely to prefer written interaction (70% vs. 61% of men), while men are more inclined to use a mix of text and voice (23% vs. 16% of women).

AI as a Shopping Companion

AI has a growing role in consumer behavior:

  • 8 out of 10 users say they search for brand or product information using AI — especially men (87%) compared to women (77%).
  • 6 out of 10 users report that AI influences their purchasing decisions, particularly men (66%) and people under 35 (64%).

AI assists in the buying process by:

  • Comparing products and prices (59%),
  • Summarizing or reading reviews (57%), and
  • Providing personalized recommendations (33%).
